UP’s Dominant Performance Sets the Tone for UAAP Finals Game 2 Against La Salle
The UAAP men’s basketball finals saw the University of the Philippines (UP) defeat La Salle with a 97-67 score in Game 1, and carried over this momentum into Game 2. After the game, Harold Alarcon shared that they would continue following their coaches’ instructions for Game 2. UP was exceptional in various areas, with better shooting percentages and significantly fewer turnovers compared to La Salle. However, the team is mindful of previous history, such as winning Game 1 but losing Game 2 in the previous season. UP coach Goldwin Monteverde emphasized that they should be ready for the next game and continue giving their best. In the UAAP women’s basketball, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) emerged victorious with a 76-72 win against National University, marking the end of a 20-game losing streak. UST coach Haydee Ong commended the team’s hard work and composure, leading to 16 steals and 27 points off turnovers. Game 2 for this series is set for Sunday.
