Topex Robinson Seals Victory for La Salle with Winning Ending
Topex Robinson’s NCAA heartbreak is over after taking La Salle to their 10th UAAP championship after winning their first title in 7 years.
Coming from 2 finals appearances loss in his last days in the NCAA, Robinson brought La Salle to a perfect second round with a 9-game winning streak. However, the team lost game 1 against UP by 30 points.
But his team didn’t give up and pulled off a series comeback, winning a winner-take-all game 3 against UP with a crowd of 25,192 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Robinson joined an elite list when he led the Green Archers to their first championship in his first year, an honor for him. He doubted himself after previous heartbreaks, but the dedication and hard work of the Green Archers inspire him to never give up.
The first-time UAAP championship coach credited his players and his coaching staff and thanked UP for pushing them to their limits in a hell of a series. “I cannot put the words you know the feeling right now but I’m just so grateful, honored, and privileged to be part of DLSU.”
