Timberwolves Triumph Over Embiid-less 76ers in NBA Matchup
MINNEAPOLIS— Anthony Edwards scored 31 points, Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Minnesota Timberwolves in their 112-99 win against the Philadelphia 76ers, who played without MVP center Joel Embiid on Wednesday in the NBA.
Embiid missed the game due to left hip soreness after his impressive performance of 38 points and 12 rebounds in the 76ers’ previous game against Cleveland. The team is also missing Kelly Oubre Jr. due to a fractured rib.
Without Embiid, the Sixers struggled against Minnesota’s two-big lineup of Towns and Rudy Gobert. Gobert contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who secured their third straight victory and have won 10 of their last 11 games.
Minnesota was also without forward Jaden McDaniels, who will be out two to three weeks due to a Grade 1 right lateral ankle sprain sustained in the previous game.
