Squash is now part of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games program, a major opportunity for the sport in Southeast Asia.
This recognition will allow top squash athletes from the region to compete on the world’s largest sports stage.
“With this in mind, we intend to vigorously promote and develop squash within our region and beyond our borders,” said Robert Bachmann, the reelected Southeast Asian Squash Federation (SEASF) president.
To lobby harder
Filipino squash players have consistently performed well in international meets, hoping for the sport to be included in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games program.
With Bachmann leading the SEASF, there will be increased efforts to lobby for squash’s inclusion in the SEA Games in Thailand in two years.
Bachmann’s re-election will ensure continuous growth and success for squash in the region, particularly with its debut in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
