Real-time Coverage: UAAP Season 86 Basketball Action on November 22

In the UAAP season, Ateneo is not accustomed to fighting for life at this stage. Adamson has experienced some success recently, and Soaring Falcons coach Nash Racela is hoping to capitalize on this when they face off against Ateneo for the last Season 86 Final Four spot at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. La Salle guard Mark Nonoy was able to avoid an automatic suspension despite his second unsportsmanlike act in the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament. The UAAP announced on Tuesday that Nonoy’s second infraction was classified as a Level 3 unsportsmanlike foul according to Fiba rules. The unsportsmanlike fouls of Level 3 and Level 4 categories are not included in accumulation as per the UAAP. “In adherence to the guidelines set by the UAAP Basketball Commissioner’s Office, aimed at excluding all Category 3 and Category 4 Unsportsmanlike Fouls from accumulation, Nonoy‘s second infraction has undergone a downgrade/reclassification,” the UAAP said in a statement. After a preseason championship win, Francis Escandor told Mike Phillips words that he would carry moving forward. “Malayo na pero malayo pa.” (We’ve come a long way but we have a long way to go.) Phillips revealed that Escandor’s words resonated with him even after a significant win against Ateneo in the second round of the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament.
