PBA Update: Magnolia Successfully Thwarts Blackwater to Maintain Unbeaten Streak

Magnolia kept its unbeaten streak going with a 105-84 victory over Blackwater in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. The Hotshots improved to 6-0, needing a huge fourth-quarter performance to pull away from Blackwater.

Import Tyler Bey had an outstanding game with 26 points and 22 rebounds for Magnolia, setting the stage for a highly awaited matchup with San Miguel Beer.

Paul Lee contributed 19 points for the Hotshots, along with key performances from Jio Jalalon, Mark Barroca, Ian Sangalang, and Joseph Eriobu. Blackwater struggled to keep up with Magnolia, with import Chris Ortiz managing only eight points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Rookies Christian David and Mike Ayonayon led Blackwater with 13 points each, but it wasn’t enough to stop Magnolia’s impressive run. The game remained close until Magnolia’s 13-point scoring run in the fourth quarter put the match out of Blackwater’s reach.
