NorthPort’s Venky Jois Leads Team to Victory with Mismatched Shoes in 4th Quarter of PBA Game

Import Venky Jois led NorthPort over Converge, 111-95, after wearing a different pair of shoes in the fourth quarter of the game in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at Philsports Arena in Pasig City. Jois scored 39 points, 21 rebounds, six assists and four blocks as the Batang Pier improved to 4-2 with their second straight win despite losing his shoe. The Australian import came into the game wearing a pair of Nike LeBron NXXT Faze, before changing his left one with a Nike Ja 1 Hunger colorway, while deciding to keep the other pair.

Rookie Cade Flores provided another all-around game with 13 points and 13 rebounds off the bench for NorthPort. Arvin Tolentino added 18 points. NorthPort will face San Miguel Beer on Friday and Meralco on Sunday at the same venue. Converge stayed winless at 0-6 despite the debut of new import Jamil Wilson. Wilson had 30 points and 13 rebounds for Converge while Mike Nieto added 16 points. The scores were:
