LeBron’s 35-point performance keeps Lakers on top in NBA In-Season Tournament

LeBron James supplied 35 points as the Lakers took down the Portland Trail Blazers 107-95 in an In-Season Tournament game on Friday night.

Los Angeles moved to 3-0 in Group A with the win, which counts toward the regular season. Anthony Davis contributed 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Jerami Grant led Portland with 24 points, but the Blazers fell to 1-2 in the tournament and were eliminated from contention in their group.

Los Angeles held a 97-83 lead with just over seven minutes left after Rui Hachimura’s 3-pointer.

James was uncertain to play due to a calf contusion, but he started and finished with nine assists. The Lakers kept their starters in until the end to boost their point differential in the group standings.

Deandre Ayton recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers, who have been dealing with multiple injuries as they work on rebuilding after All-Star Damian Lillard’s departure.
