Klay Thompson’s Heroics Propel Warriors to Victory over Trail Blazers in NBA Showdown

PORTLAND – Klay Thompson scored 28 points despite Stephen Curry’s streak ending at 268 games. The Golden State Warriors won 118-114 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday for their second victory in a row.

Curry’s performance showed 0 for 8 from 3-point range, 2 for 12 overall and seven points. The streak started in December 2018 with a game in Detroit.

Andrew Wiggins, who was omitted from the Golden State’s starting lineup, tallied 25 points and seven rebounds. Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, allowing the Warriors to win back-to-back games for the first time since November.

Jerami Grant, with 30 points, led Portland. Anfernee Simons scored all 21 of his points in the second half.

Portland trimmed the lead to 113-111 with 39 seconds left. Chris Paul’s jumper extended the Warriors’ lead to 115-11 with 20.9 seconds remaining, and Simon’s 3-point play made the score 115-114 with 14.7 seconds to go.

Cut to 116-114, after Curry made one of two free throws, Portland was called for an offensive foul with 0.6 seconds left.
