Kevin Quiambao, UAAP Finals MVP, set to make a comeback with La Salle in the upcoming season

MANILA, Philippines — Kevin Quiambao earns another MVP award in UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball Finals by scoring 24 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, leading La Salle to a 73-69 win over University of the Philippines in Game 3. The match was played in front of a record crowd of 25,192 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After helping the Green Archers clinch their first championship since 2016, Quiambao expressed his desire to extend his career for another year.

The 6-foot-6 forward, who became the first local in eight years to be named UAAP Season MVP, scored 10 of La Salle’s closing 15-4 run after trailing by seven in the final frame.

Quiambao exhibited his all-around brilliance all season long with an average of 14.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks in the finals.
