Kevin Quiambao Takes a Break: Another Year with La Salle Still in Question
Shortly after leading La Salle to its first UAAP men’s basketball title since 2016, Kevin Quiambao said in a TV interview that he plans to return for another run with the newly crowned champions. However, he emphasized that he would first focus on spending time with his family after a challenging season in Japan.
According to Quiambao, he would first vacation in Japan on December 15 and decide on his next steps in the coming weeks, including exploring any pro offers he may have received. Quiambao has three years of eligibility left.
He led La Salle to a comeback win against University of the Philippines on Wednesday, ending their seven-year title drought to claim their 10th championship. Quiambao excelled in the Finals series, averaging 14.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks across three games.
