Living thousands of miles apart, Nxled Japanese coach Taka Minowa and volleyball player Jaja Santiago have found ways to make their long-distance relationship easier. They maintain constant communication and recently adopted a dog. They met when Minowa was coaching for Santiago’s first team in the Japan league. Their conversations often revolve around volleyball and adjusting to each other’s cultures. Minowa appreciates Santiago’s respectfulness and adaptability. After a month in Manila, he is starting to feel at home and has even learned to cook Filipino dishes. He also enjoys the competition in the PVL and believes that the players have great potential.
