Jong Uichico Brings Experience to NLEX as Lead Assistant Coach
Jong Uichico is set to join the NLEX Road Warriors’ coaching staff at the PBA grounds, the team revealed on Sunday.
Set to take on the role of lead assistant to coach Frankie Lim, Uichico was all praises for the opportunity:
“I’m thankful to the NLEX organization for trusting me with this role,” Uichico said. “I’m looking forward to working with coach Frankie, the rest of the coaching staff, and the players and I’m excited to once again be a part of the PBA as a coach.”
Uichico has a wealthy experience in coaching, having previously handled TNT and Gilas Pilipinas. His attachment to NLEX is seen as crucial, especially as the team aims to improve its poor performance of late. With a lineup that includes key players like Kiefer Ravena and Robert Bolick, Uichico could potentially help steer NLEX to the right direction.
With several changes in its roster of late, including the acquisition of Robert Bolick from NorthPort, NLEX is undoubtedly hoping for a change in its fortunes. Bolick has inked a three-year contract with the team and his partnership with Uichico could be pivotal for the Road Warriors. Currently, NLEX is faced with a 2-5 standing in the Commissioner’s Cup after losing its last four matches.
