Grizzlies Continue Clippers’ Winless Streak After James Harden Trade in NBA

Desmond Bane and the Memphis Grizzlies grabbed their second win of the season, overcoming the Los Angeles Clippers 105-101 on Sunday. Coach Taylor Jenkins praised his squad’s defensive effort. Luke Kennard scored 13 points while Paul George led the Clippers with 26 points. Russell Westbrook added 12 points, nine rebounds, and five assists on his birthday. However, the Clippers lost their fifth straight game and are winless in four games since acquiring James Harden.

The Grizzlies now stand at 2-8 and are eagerly awaiting the return of All-Star guard Ja Morant from a 25-game suspension next month.

Memphis made 13 3-pointers, with Bismack Biyombo impressing with a double-double of 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 steals. Meanwhile, the Clippers sank seven of their 12 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Despite being outscored 33-26 in the final quarter, the Grizzlies held on to secure the win.

The Clippers had a chance to tie the game, but James Harden missed a late 3-pointer. Coach Tyronn Lue criticized Harden’s politeness and demanded more aggression from his play. The game saw multiple lead changes, with the Grizzlies finishing the first quarter with a 13-point lead. They maintained their dominance in the third quarter and held on to secure the win.
