FEU Shines in UAAP Cheerdance with a Packed Crowd

MANILA, Philippines – The Far Eastern University Cheering Squad celebrated their UAAP Season 86 Cheerdance Competition crown victory with a near-flawless routine inspired by Super Mario Bros. The team, led by coach Randell San Gregorio, reclaimed the championship with a phenomenal performance at the Mall of Asia Arena.

For San Gregorio and his squad, this win was a sweet redemption after their last victory, which was followed by a quick dethronement. This time, they enjoyed a full year as champions, and their 25-man team allowed them to showcase their talents in front of a packed crowd and earn unexpected special awards.

The squad’s brilliant Super Mario routine received the highest score, resulting in the dethroning of the NU Pep Squad and a clean sweep of all five special awards. They took home a total of Php 250,000 and achieved their fourth overall crown and 21st podium finish in the tournament.

According to graduating team captain Aaron Ayalin, their outstanding performance was a combination of their past routines, learning from their mistakes, and executing a flawless routine.

FEU’s focus was on delivering a flawless routine, and their hard work paid off with their well-deserved victory. As for future plans, San Gregorio is yet to reveal his next tournament theme as he wants to savor this championship with the team for now.
