Choco Mucho Makes a Comeback Against Cignal to Set Up PVL Semifinals Showdown

MANILA, Philippines — Sisi Rondina scored 23 points, pushing Choco Mucho to a PVL semifinals Game 2 sweep of Cignal, ensuring a Game 3 showdown.

Rondina took the loss in Game 1 personally and rallied her team with an inspiring 20 kills, two blocks, and an ace in the game. Her performance allowed Choco Mucho to secure a series-extending win over Cignal.

Aside from Rondina, Kat Tolentino also made significant contributions, with 15 points including two blocks.

Choco Mucho and Cignal will now play a do-or-die Game 3 for a spot in the All-Filipino finals.

Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin lauded the team’s hard work and performance on the court, giving credit to all the players.

Setter Deanna Wong delivered 15 excellent sets. Isa Molde and Maddie Madayag also provided eight points each, and libero Thang Ponce contributed 13 digs.

Tolentino played a crucial role, securing back-to-back kills that put Choco Mucho at match point. Despite Cignal’s efforts, Jovelyn Gonzaga’s service error allowed the Flying Titans to force a deciding game.

The HD Spikers’ efforts were led by Gonzaga, who racked up 13 points, 10 digs, and seven excellent receptions. Ces Molina and Ria Meneses also scored 11 points each.
