Benedictine College boosts Final Four bid in NCAA, Lyceum secures twice-to-beat advantage

College of St. Benilde boosted its Final Four hopes by beating Letran, 72-54, at San Juan Arena.

The Blazers remained in third place with an 11-6 record, gaining a half-game lead over San Beda at 10-6.

Miggy Corteza and Mark Sangco finished with 13 points each for Benilde, while Migs Oczon scored 12 points.

Kobe Monje was the sole double-digit scorer for the Knights with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Lyceum secured the last twice-to-beat incentive by defeating Arellano, 98-86. The Pirates, who improved to 13-4, led by as many as 17 and never trailed. Mclaude GuadaƱa and John Barba powered Lyceum with 17 points each. Shawn Umali scored 15 points, and Enoch Valdez tallied 11 points and 15 rebounds. The Chiefs, who ended the season with a 2-16 record, had Jade Talampas scoring 20 points and Lorenz Capulong scoring 17 points.
